The Huddle

052009_thehuddleI really liked this comment that my Twiend Jay Caruso left on a previous post. The following quote is from a man who runs a missionary organization:

Christ followers like to huddle up like a football team to call a play, but never say “Break!”. They just want to keep on huddling.

I thought about that for awhile… I really like the analogy. You see… the huddle is safe, the huddle is secure, the huddle is familiar. ‘Breaking’ the huddle is scary, challenging and opens the door to the unknown. What we sometimes forget as Christians is that the unknown can be exciting, the unknown can be enlightening, the unknown can bring opportunities that the huddle never thought possible.

Don’t be afraid to break the huddle!
