About

Ultimately, having a deeper more nuanced understanding of technology can make us more careful in our usage and more cognizant of the humanity (God’s most precious creation) underneath it all.

I’ve been to a wax museum in Vancouver Canada. I’ve been inside a prison cell of Alcatraz. I’ve walked all the way across the Mississippi River. I’ve climbed on a glacier that is no longer there. I’ve canoed 75 miles in 10 days and slept near fresh moose tracks. I’ve walked across one of the oldest bridges in Prague. I’ve visited the Nazi concentration camp at Auschwitz… twice. I’ve led a group of 25 American high school teenagers through the streets of Nitra Slovakia. I’ve successfully navigated a group of 70 through the crowded streets of New Orleans. I’ve skied at 12,060ft in Colorado. I’ve swum in the two largest oceans in the world. I’ve walked down the steps of the ski jump used in the 1994 winter Olympics in Lillehammer, Norway. I’ve built two computers from scratch. I’ve climbed sand dunes taller than a 10-story building and proceeded to run down them at breakneck speed. I’ve driven a combine through a field of grain. I drove a Buick into the Pacific Ocean at the age of 10. I’ve driven a 15-passenger van from Chicago to San Antonio and back again. I’ve run a 5K… twice. I’ve worked in a television studio. I’ve been a radio DJ. I’ve climbed to the top of a grain elevator and explored a cold-war era missile silo. I attended the 50th anniversary of Disneyland in Anaheim, CA and have visited Disneyworld multiple times. I’ve stayed at the Bellagio in Las Vegas and have walked across the Hoover Dam. I’ve stayed in an old farmhouse in Quebec. I’ve started a fire in pouring rain. I’ve observed Seattle from the top of the space needle and skied at Mt. Baker. I’ve walked up the curviest road in America and stayed at one of the finest hotels in Los Angeles. I’ve crossed the Nevada-California border on skies overlooking beautiful Lake Tahoe. I’ve played king of the hill on a boulder in Lake Michigan. I’ve dove into freezing water off a 67ft long sailboat. I’ve water-skied in one of Minnesota’s 10,000 lakes. I’ve set a record for getting out of a corn maze. I’ve gazed at the stars from the middle of a field in rural Illinois. I’ve driven across Iowa. I’ve been shot at by a group of Navy Seals. I’ve sat with a Japanese man in the lounge car of an Amtrak train as he witnessed his first sunrise… ever. I worked for a summer in the Hispanic south side of Chicago and successfully ordered lunch without knowing a lick of Spanish. I’ve ridden my road bike on Lake Shore Drive. I’ve been to the top of the Navy Pier Ferris Wheel. I’ve viewed the state of Michigan from Illinois. I’ve been given a private tour of the United States Capitol in Washington, D.C. I’ve been stranded on a runway for 3.5 hours. I’ve been to Bainbridge Island, WA. I’ve been to the top of a Norwegian Fjord. I’ve had a tree fall on the road just feet behind my car. I’ve built a house in Charleston, SC. I’ve cleared land in Michigan. I’ve been stung by 33 bees at once. I’ve experienced a Minnesota State Fair. I visited the original Cheers bar in Boston. I’ve been in both the White Sox and Cubs dugouts and I’ve been in the press boxes at U.S. Cellular Field.

So that’s what I’m bringing to the table…
