In The Midst of Crazy

It’s that time of year again!

We are headed straight for the crazy.

As we go into this Christmas season let’s try and remember to take some time in the midst of the crazy for ourselves.

Some thoughts…

When you leave the office at the end of the day, does it follow you home?

When your phone buzzes and you are spending time with your family, do you dive for it?

We can only be effective in helping and leading people if we take time for ourselves first. I’m not saying to let an opportunity to show grace to someone pass you by, but when was the last time you had a moment just for you?

What do you do to relax?

I go to Chicago and walk around.

What R U Thankful For?

I have a lot to be thankful for.

GOD, my family, my special someone, my friends, my car, my job, my church, my high school kids, my Starbucks, clean water, new clothes, hobbies, my MacBook, food, a warm bed, vacations… etc.

Here’s the thing… many people don’t have any of those things. As you sit around your Thanksgiving feast this year think of them. Not because they don’t have a MacBook and they must be miserable but because without simple things like clean water and food they are literally starving! Did you know that for 1 in 8 Americans… hunger is a reality? There are a lot of things for us to be thankful for this year. Try to think of the non-material things in your life that you are thankful for. Then think about that 1 in 8. They might be sitting with someone close to them this Thanksgiving with nothing to eat. They might be more worried about paying their motel bill than finding food. They might be cold.

I am not trying to make you feel bad for having. Just be aware that it is happening right here… in your backyard.

So what are you going to do about it?

You could take your family and volunteer at a local food pantry! Donate money… not bags of food. Food pantries can buy food at a fraction of the cost from what you can. They make your dollars go farther than you do.

What are you thankful for this year?

Tell Me Why?

When I was in 8th grade (1998) my friends and I may have roamed the halls of my Jr. High School singing this song in different parts. Too bad nobody had flip cameras back then!

Sometimes I wish I didn’t have my own office and that I shared workspace with others. Office shenanigans would be in abundance! It would be fun.

What crazy things do you do at your office?
