Winter Park, Good Friends & Rockin’ the Awesome
So I’ve been back from Colorado for a couple days now and I want to go back. I always have so much fun when I go there. I consider myself very lucky to have friends that let me stay at their place when I go. Their generosity is not lost on me. I haven’t been to Winter Park, CO since 2006 and things have changed at the base since then! There is now a whole new village next to the Zephyr Mountain Lodge. It’s not completely finished yet but Kim, JoAnn and I were able to walk through it. Some of the shops are open already. I got to travel with my friend Kim, her daughter JoAnn, her husband Jason and his brother Eric. It was good to get to know Jason and Eric better. I’ve known Kim since high school but really haven’t gotten to know her until recently. I consider her one of my best friends. She’s a rockstar and so is JoAnn!
I got to visit my most favorite place in the world again! Elevation 12,060 ft. Skiing was great! Every time I follow a Schnittker down a slope I end up in some unexpected predicament that tests my ski ability. That’s a good thing! This time I followed Kim down Parsenn Bowl and ended up in some trees. When we got out of the trees, I ended up on a black diamond slope with a bunch of moguls. It takes me a bit to get through moguls but it’s all good. I really should be doing more difficult runs. I’m getting really good at the blues. I owned “Mary Jane” (the ski run) this time! Last time I just about fell… that means I’m getting better at control. All good things.
I don’t really want to bore everybody with details of a trip that you weren’t able to go on… and in effect make you all jealous. So I’ll just give you a slide show of the trip. Suffice it to say that vacations are great! I needed this… Thanks to Kim, JoAnn, Jason, Eric and the Schnittker family.
Winter Park, Colorado
So I should probably introduce JoAnn. She’s the daughter of a good friend of mine Kim. I’m in Winter Park, Colorado right now getting ready to head out to the slopes for my second day of skiing.
This is a picture of JoAnn and I on the plane… we played barbies and read books and listened to music… it was good times!
From left to right… Eric (Jason’s brother) Jason (Kim’s husband) Kim and Me. We’re takin a break from skiing yesterday for some amazing fries!
So that’s pretty much the post for right now… justĀ a couple of pictures. Gotta get ready for skiing now!
